A Day with The Salty Mangrove

David Moyle and The Salty Mangrove crew join us on the King's Birthday public holiday on Monday 6 October for a riverside takeover at Bar Miette: a one-day-only party that brings the coastal spirit of New Brighton Beach to the banks of the Brisbane River.

With a deep respect for Australian seafood and coastal cooking, chef David Moyle is known for his elemental, fire-driven style - a sensibility he honed at his acclaimed Hobart restaurant, Franklin. Now behind The Salty Mangrove in the Northern Rivers, Moyle brings that same honest, produce-led approach to a relaxed, coastal setting inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle of the Balearic Islands.

On the menu for the day, you’ll find a selection of Dave's Balerico favourites like taramasalata with focaccia, snapper sandwiches with remoulade, lamb neck skewers with olive and seaweed, and whole grilled mud crabs on the hibachi. To drink, you’ll find some of Salty Mangrove’s go-to cocktails like their Saltini & Mangrove Bloody Mary, plus natural wines, flowing all afternoon long.

We’re kicking off from midday with records spinning by Dingo Balearico throughout. This one is sure to be big — make a reservation below, but of course, walk-ins are always welcome.
