Pizza Party with Bar Evelyn
On Sunday 18th May, we teamed up with our good friend Nick Stanton from Coolangatta’s Bar Evelyn to throw a pizza party on the terrace at Bar Miette.
Nick had made his mark in Melbourne at spots like Ramblr, Leonard’s House of Love, and Leonardo’s Pizza Palace. In 2020, he returned to Coolangatta and, with his longtime friend Mark Catsburg, opened Bar Evelyn — a neighbourhood restaurant and bar named after Nick’s mum. The menu, “Italian-ish” as Stanton called it, featured handmade pizza, pasta, and plenty of coastal charm.
Nick and Jason spun dough and stoked flames on the terrace, turning out Bar Evelyn’s New York-style sourdough pizzas — salami with mozzarella & hot honey, and zucchini with garlic, stracciatella, pickled red onion, & chilli oil. A couple of signature Bar Evelyn snacks also joined the line-up.
Ice-cold Peronis made the rounds as guests gathered on the terrace from midday.
